February is the month of LOVE, and that doesn’t just apply to one special day! I have been thinking about how this applies to your business showing up on social media, and have a few thoughts. This blog is going to give you ideas (simple ones because that’s what we’re about here) on all the ways to show some love to your audience on social media and to your fellow small business owners in the online space. Let’s dive in!
When someone clicks that ‘Follow’ button, they’ve made a choice to spend time with you, and it makes sense to show your appreciation for that. Whether you have a product or service-based business, these ideas can work for you to show love to your audience.
Share an Exclusive Promo Code for the Month: In this economy, everyone is looking for a deal, so share the love with your loyal followers by offering an exclusive promo code for February. See how to include this easily into your content plan:
Script Example: “We ❤️ our customers/clients! Use code [YOUR UNIQUE PROMO CODE HERE] for [DISCOUNT AMOUNT HERE] off any order/booking/service during [TIMELINE OF DEAL] because you deserve all the love this month. Thank you for supporting a small business like ours/mine!”
Run a Giveaway or Promo for a Product or Service: Everyone likes to feel special, and that’s exactly what happens when you win something! You feel special in that moment. Extend this opportunity to someone in your online audience by running a giveaway or promo for one of your offers. Have fun with it, and don’t make it too complicated. See the example below for wording your social media caption, including the needed disclaimer info.
Script Example: “💝 IT’S GIVEAWAY TIME! We’re/I’m so thankful for your support of our/my small business, so to show my/our appreciation, one lucky follower will have a chance to win [PRODUCT/SERVICE]! To enter, follow these steps: [ENTRY REQUIREMENTS HERE]. Winner will be announced on [DATE & TIME]. Good Luck!🤞”
Giveaway Disclaimer Script: **Contest closes on [DATE & TIME HERE]. The winner will be announced via [METHOD OF CONTACTING WINNER] on [DATE], and will have [LENGTH OF TIME] to claim their prize before another winner is selected. This giveaway is not sponsored by, endorsed, or affiliated with [LIST ALL APPLICABLE SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS HERE]. The giveaway is open to residents of [AREA GIVEAWAY AVAILABLE IN] over the age of [AGE OF ELIGABILITY].
REMINDER: PLEASE be cautious of scam accounts! The winner of this giveaway will only be announced on this page, and you will never be required to provide credit card information.**
Encourage UGC (User Generated Content) From Your Followers to Earn a Credit or Freebie: Nothing endorses a product, service, or business better than a high recommendation from a friend. To help with that, ask your audience to share their experiences using your products or services in their daily life and post a pic or video tagging your business. Check out the example below.
Script Example: “😍We/I love seeing your results from [SERVICE]/how you use [PRODUCT] IRL! Grab [% or $ AMT OFF NEXT ORDER/BOOKING] when you snap a pic or share a video of [PRODUCT/SERVICE RESULTS] and tag us [@yourhandlehere] on social.📸
Launch a New Valuable Free Resource as a Thank-You: What better way to express your love and appreciation for your audience than to create something valuable specifically to benefit them?! You’re here to make their lives better and simpler in some way, so take that up a notch and create a free resource they can use to see results in their life right away. Peep the ideas below:
Another simple way to make your audience feel cared about is to respond to their comments and DMs in a reasonable amount of time and not with saved canned responses that are depersonalized. Let’s make sure we’re keeping the social space a place of safety, care, and fun!
